Who Are We
Chiang Mai Elephant Park is an ethical rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary in the mountains of Northern Thailand. We offer a permanent, chain-free home for elephants rescued from logging, riding, and tourist entertainment.

Our peaceful Chiang Mai sanctuary is home to a protected herd of 10 rescued elephants living freely in their natural jungle home.

Khamlao
Once shy and unsure, Khamlao has grown into one of the sanctuary's most playful elephants. He loves dust baths, exploring the forest, and spending time with his herd. Today, his curiosity and confidence are a beautiful reminder of the second chance he found here.

Boonmee
After years in the tourism industry, Boonmee finally found peace at the sanctuary. Gentle and thoughtful, she enjoys quiet walks beneath the trees and spending time close to her herd. Today, she is relaxed, confident, and thriving in the freedom she always deserved.

Somporn
Somporn is the wise heart of the herd. Calm, gentle, and deeply respected, she keeps a watchful eye on the younger elephants and leads with quiet confidence. Whether guiding the herd or enjoying a peaceful walk through the forest, Somporn's presence brings a sense of calm wherever she goes.

Begin your visit with a warm hello from our team and a short, heartfelt intro to elephant care.
We’ll share their stories, explain basic behavior, and guide you on how to engage respectfully.

If they’re in the mood, join the elephants for a splash in the river!
Some love mud, some love water, some just want to chill — we follow their lead.
🍌Feed & Walk With The Herd
Help prepare fruit and vitamin snacks — then hand-feed them to our elephants (they’ll remember you forever).
Walk alongside them as they roam, snack, and just be elephants in the open space.
🍜Thai Lunch & Relaxation
After all the fun, enjoy a freshly prepared Thai meal with views of the sanctuary.
